Cranbrook Symphony Orchestra has an association with the town of Cranbrook and its surrounding villages going back many years.
The Rev. Wilfred Oldacre, who played the flute and had retired to Cranbrook, proposed the formation of a local orchestra. In the late 1960's this met at Dulwich Preparatory School where Oldacre was a part-time teacher, and moved to Cranbrook when John Williams became Cranbrook School's musical director.
The orchestra previously rehearsed at High Weald Academy (formerly Angley School) and in more recent years moved to Flimwell Village Hall.
Concerts are held several times a year in support of local charities and causes. Local venues have included:
- St. Dunstan's Church, Cranbrook
- St. Ronan's School, Hawkhurst
- St. George's Church, Benenden
- Benenden School, Benenden
- Hemsted Park, Benenden
- St. Laurence's Church, Hawkhurst
